Packing List Envelope with 2 pieces of release liners

This packing list envelope is manufactured with 2pcs of release liners. There are advantages and disadvantages depending on your usage of these pouches. If you have many consignments in the hundreds or thousands, the process of removing an additional release liner will slow you down.
On the other hand, if you want to ensure the user to stick the envelope fully and completely on the consignment or the position to paste the packing list envelope is important, using one like this with 2 release papers will help.
Notice the opening to insert the shippjng documents is a overlapping type, which is ideal for documents that are not confidential and can be removed and inserted multiple times by anyone.

Used Packing List Envelope from TNT

It was reported after encountering stiff objections from European antitrust regulators, United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) had abandoned a almost US$7 billion bid for TNT Express.

Packing list envelopes are used in overnight-parcel-delivery and courier parcel delivery market to put consignment notes, airwaybills and relevant delivery documents.

Here is a photo of a used packing list envelope from TNT Express with its logo at the bottom right corner. As it had been used, the top portion had been detached from the box in order to remove the documents in the pouch during custom clearance and delivery to the receiver at the destination.

Very Old Packing List Envelope

I was in a warehouse earlier this week and I saw a packing list envelope stick on the rack. I presume that the envelope is used to put the stock card for the management of inventory control of the products on the rack.

From the look of it, it must have there for a long time as there are water stain and dust on it.

This is a top loading packing list envelope when the content or documents are put into the pouch from the top.

Notice that the white release liner is still stick on the adhesive and only the top portion of the packing list envelope is stick on the rack.

What is Packing List Envelope?

Packing List Envelopes are used to protect invoices, shipping documents and other important documents. These envelopes, or sometimes called document pouches, usually has a clear transparent window to all the contents to be read easily on the front and adhesive on the reverse side. The adhesive on the reverse side of the packing list envelope is used to stick the goods (or consignments) after removing the release liner. In the event that the shipping documents are confidential, full-face document pouches are used.

There are various types of packing list envelopes available in the market with different sizes, printing and type of loading (method of putting in the documents- from the top or side of the envelope). The common sizes ranges from 4.5" x 5/5" to 10" x 12" and customized sizes are also available by most of the manufacturers. Nevertheless, it is more cost effective to get common standard off the shelves sizes available.

The common types of printing on the packing list envelopes are:-
  • PACKING LIST ENCLOSED
  • INVOICE ENCLOSED
  • DOCUMENT ENCLOSED
  • INSTRUCTION ENCLOSED
  • CUSTOMS PAPER ENCLOSED
  • MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET ENCLOSED
  • LIEFERSCHEIN- RECHNUNG
  • RETURN DOCUMENTS
The fonts are usually in bold and black on a red, yellow or orange background with a black border for easy identification during custom clearance. Your choice when making a selection will depend of the documents that you will be putting into the envelope.

In conclusion, packing list envelope or document pouch is like a pocket in your jeans to put your identification documents that is pasted on the consignment (goods being delivered from origin to destination) to hold the important documents for custom clearances and delivery. It is used extensively in logistics and courier industries.
